Dana and Urs were really friendly host. The place is managed impeccably maintained by Barbara. The view from our room was amazing! Gimmelwald is a true getaway, a vacation from your vacation.

Rooms are nice. Bathroom/showers are shared. Breakfast is expensive. I would just grab food at the coop in Murren. Would stay again.

I had an excellent experience. The rooms were cleaned and well furnished. The owner and the staff were amiable and helpful. I recommend this guest house not far from the cable car station going to Murren

Gimmelwald is a beautiful, beautiful village and Esthers Guesthouse is a very clean, tidy, and pleasant place to stay right beside the cable car. Would definitely recommend! There are 2 minor reasons why I didnt give 5 stars: (1) Our room, #2, was very small for two people and I think overpriced at 120CHF/night (excluding breakfast). It was also very cold on our first night and the radiator was not working. (2) Breakfast costs extra (a pretty steep 16CHF/person for what it is) and needs to be booked the night before. On our second day, we forgot to book in for breakfast - bad move. The next morning I asked the staff member if we could get something from the buffet as there is nowhere else in town to get breakfast and was told no. This was pretty annoying, especially as there was plenty of food at the buffet. We had to take the cable car up to M?rren to get breakfast which was quite the hassle. To make this even more irritating, the following morning a family of 4 who hadnt booked in for breakfast were accommodated at the last minute - for some reason the same courtesy wasnt given to us!

Shared bathroom and shared kitchen. Room was decent. Kids were on a fold out sofa. 3 min walk from sky buckets.

Best place in gimmelwald. Gimmelwald itself is heaven on Earth and accommodation at Esthers guesthouse perfectly compliments it. Nice clean rooms and well equipped kitchen are one of the benefits to stay here. The biggest reason to stay here is the warm welcome by Dana and her team.

We enjoyed our stay at Esthers Guesthouse because its clean and very near to the cable car station in Gimmelward! The rooms we stayed provided good views of mountain! And theres a shortcut to Murren just right behind the guesthouse! They also provided chocolates and red wine as welcome gifts!

This was a simply wonderful place to stay. A friend and I spent 5 nights here in July 2016. We were both struck by how clean and well maintained the place is. We stayed in two different rooms during our stay. One had a lovely kitchenette (Apartment B) and a fantastic view from the balcony. The second (Room #6) had neither, but the guesthouse has a large communal kitchen and dining area that still allows you to make your own meals if you wish. Also lots of communal sitting areas outside with wonderful views. The bedding is extremely comfortable, even on the pull-out sofabed. We arrived fairly early (~11), so our room wasnt yet ready. But theres a room where guests are able to store their luggage for this purpose, which allowed us to wander around town in the meantime. Esther is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. She had lots of excellent hiking suggestions for us. The guesthouse is very near the cable car and across the street from a restaurant. But theres very little noise, simply because the town is not busy at all, even in peak season. If I had to take a half-star off, it would be because the wi-fi is not very quick or reliable. Also, from the pictures, I was under the impression that the guesthouse was far from any neighbors; its actually right in town, so be prepared for that. But again, Gimmelwald is so small and quiet that it can hardly even be called a town. Highly recommended!
